Bishop Lambert Gates

Bishop Lambert Wade Gates, Sr., was born October 31, 1958, in Detroit, Michigan, the youngest of eight children born to Leroy, Sr., and Elise Anna Wade Gates. When he was six months old his mother died, and from the age of two, was raised by his father and stepmother Minnie Gates. He credits his stepmother with keeping him in church as a youth and diligently instructing him in the ways of the Lord. His father, to him a "wise counselor and friend," instilled in him strong Christian values and the importance of being the best at whatever he would be in life. Educated in the Detroit Public School system, he graduated with honors at the age of 16 in 1975. He continued his education, attending the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor where he earned a bachelor of arts degree in 1980. Soon after, he began his professional career as a high school English teacher in Detroit.

Bishop Gates was baptized at age seven, and filled with the Holy Ghost on March 28, 1970, at the age of 11, at Clinton Street Greater Bethlehem Temple in Detroit. His ministerial career began in 1975 when he preached his first sermon, Great is Thy Faithfulness, in Ferndale, Michigan. He joined Apostolic Faith Temple (Now Greater Apostolic Faith Temple [GAFT]) in 1978, cultivating a close relationship with the pastor, Bishop Nemiah Smith, and serving in various positions. During this phase of his ministry he also became established as an evangelist. In 1984, upon becoming an ordained minister of the Pentecostal Churches of the Apostolic Faith (PCAF), he was appointed assistant pastor at GAFT. In August 1996, in acknowledgement of his ministerial achievements at the local and national levels, the PCAF appointed him to the office of bishop. He was consecrated a year later. As diocesan bishop of the 7th Episcopal District, he founded the Indiana State Conference, a ministry of training, evangelism, worship, and fellowship. Bishop Gates attained his highest office to date when he was consecrated as the assistant presiding bishop of the Pentecostal Churches of the Apostolic Faith at its 2008 national convention in Indianapolis.

On August 25, 1988, Bishop Gates was elected to the pastorate of Mt. Zion Apostolic Church in Indianapolis, Indiana, succeeding the late Bishop James O. Franklin. He was officially installed on December 11, 1988. In October 2007, he assumed full leadership of Greater Apostolic Faith Temple in Detroit when he was elected senior pastor following the death of his longtime friend and father in the gospel, Bishop Nemiah Smith. Described as a “prophet-sharing” program, his distinction as one pastor in two locations attests to the call on his life for expansive ministry. He believes in a holistic approach, structuring the ministries of each church to deal with the tripartite nature of man; that is, spirit, soul, and body. He is an outstanding teacher of the Word of God, and is a nationally known speaker whose ministry is in constant demand. He is seen internationally via Internet on Streaming Faith, and in the Detroit and Indianapolis areas on the jointly sponsored Victory through Praise telecast services. In addition, he is heard on radio stations in Detroit and Indianapolis.

Bishop Gates’ personal interests include traveling, baseball, spending time with his sons, enjoying fine foods, and studying powerful books on leadership. He and his wife, Nancy Franklin Gates, reside in Fishers, Indiana. They are the parents of Lambert Wade, Jr., and Cameron David Gates.

Minister Mark Moore, Jr.

Elder Mark A. Moore, Jr. resides in Atlanta, GA, where he is a graduate of Morehouse College, having obtained his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology. He is blessed to serve as the Youth Pastor of Faith Covenant Church of Jesus Christ under the pastorate of his father, Bishop Mark A. Moore, Sr. as well as the National Assistant Youth President for the Apostolic Assemblies of Christ, Inc. He was also honored by The Youth Gospel Choice Awards as the Chosen Youth Pastor of the Year.

Born to a legacy of preachers five generations deep, and having received the gift of the Holy Ghost at age six, he acknowledged his call to the ministry at the age of 18. Since that time, God has used him to travel across the country preaching and teaching the unadulterated Word of God across denominational lines resulting in the lives of countless souls being touched. God has blessed him to preach with an unquestionable anointing while delivering thought provoking, timely messages that transcend age, color or denominational background.

Bishop Mark Moore, Sr.

Bishop Mark Moore, Sr. Son of the late Bishop Benjamin T. Moore and Dr. Willa Moore, Bishop Mark A. Moore, Sr. is a fourth generation Pentecostal preacher. He remembers as a child hearing his father pray at the altar one day, and feeling the burden his father had for the children of God, he asked the Lord that day to let the burden of his father fall on him. The Lord honored his request and from that day, God has prepared Bishop Moore for the task.

Raised and educated in the school system of Indianapolis, Indiana, he received various scholastic honors. He attended Harvard College and majored in religion although he had contemplated studying law. Bishop Moore graduated cum laude from Harvard College in 1985.

From 1985 until the death of his father in 1988, Bishop Moore served in Indianapolis, Indiana at Christ Temple, the Mother Church of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World. He served in various capacities, which allowed him to receive formative pastoral experience.

As a national Evangelist from 1989 to 1991, Bishop Moore traveled the length and breadth of the country, living by faith as God elevated his ministry to another dimension. During this period, he accepted the position of Pastoral Assistant to Dr. James D. Nelson in Baltimore, Maryland, where he served faithfully under Bishop Nelson’s leadership. In 1992, Bishop Moore was elected to pastor Zion Temple Apostolic Church, in Havre de Grace, Maryland. During his 8˝ years tenure the church tripled in attendance and there was extensive spiritual growth. Not only did the church flourish, but also the community benefited, strengthening “the whole man” with after-school programs, financial counseling and practical workshops.

In 1996, God spoke to Bishop Moore concerning a “new thing” in Atlanta, and in November of that year, Bishop Moore, along with a faithful handful, established Faith Covenant Church of Jesus Christ, Inc. For four years, Bishop Moore traveled between Maryland and Georgia, pastoring both churches. In early 2001, God released him to the church that he founded, Faith Covenant – another step of faith in the life of Bishop Moore. His experiences as the founding pastor of Faith Covenant Church of Jesus Christ have been invaluable in rounding out his ministerial qualifications. Pioneering a church often calls for levels of faith, sacrifice, determination, and spiritual grit that are unparalleled in any other ministerial endeavor. Although Bishop Moore never anticipated that he would be a church planter, he has come to see this season as a part of the answer to the prayer he prayed so many years ago for the burden and mantle of his father. The hardship and thrill of birthing a ministry have had an indelible impact upon his character, resulting in a mature, resilient and humble servant leader. In July of 2010, he was elevated to the office of Bishop in the Lord’s Church.

Bishop Moore is married to the talented and lovely Shirley Ann Moore and they have three energetic, outgoing and spirit-filled children Mark, Jr., George David , and Sharon Alise - who are all actively involved in helping him to reach the world.
